Making Every Gift (Even the One’s You Don’t Like) Work for You!
Think of all the junk you’ve received (and given). Don’t you wish there was a better way? I will show you a better way. The answer is Gift Baskets.
Unfortunately, we don’t always receive something as cool as Gift Baskets. That’s the reason for my gift to you.
Everyone has been given something that is simply horrible. You can give it to charity, or post it on www.freecycle.com where everything donated is free to users. You might hide the horrible gift in a box where you will hopefully never run into it again. Whatever you do don’t dispose of the item.
Then, there is re-gifting, a risky and often unpleasant practice. Regifting is usually never a acceptable practice. Especially if the individual that gave you the gift finds out. There are a number of ways to put the gift to use, without the awkward and blatant re-wrapping and passing along.
1. Create a “Treasure Box.” I use a large tote. Be sure to mark the item with whom it is from.
2. Place gifts that are of no use to you in the treasure chest.
3. Over time, group similar items together i.e. games, movies, an outfit, etc.
4. To give a “re-gifted” treasure, make sure you have at least 3 similar items. Let’s say movies. Take the DVDs, and gift wrap them. Purchase two boxes of gourmet popcorn, popcorn flavorings (often available at Ross stores, TJ Maxx and Target) and some hot chocolate. If you are giving the DVDs to an adult or family, put in a homemade gift certificate for one night of free babysitting (if they have kids). The trick is to only purchase small items that add up to a big gift. Make sure that you are not giving the gift back to the person that gave it to you.
Now you know what to do with all those unwanted gifts you have accumulated through the years.
We all want to make our gift giving a little easier, so might I suggest you head on over to Nectar of Life’s Coffee Gift Baskets page and have a look around? There’s no better place to find a gift basket than at Nectar of Life Organic Coffee Company.
