40th Birthday Invitations

Do 40th birthday invitations excite you? Birthdays are a celebration for most people. Especially if you're a kid, you always look forward to your next birthday.

Can't wait to have the fun birthday party with your friends, the delicious birthday cake, and of course, the presents. However, as you get older you start to notice the years go by pretty fast.

Sending out 40th birthday invitations perhaps is not that exciting to some people, as it is a bit hard to grasp the years that have gone by.

However, it doesn't have to be that way. You are only as old as you feel you are. Instead of lamenting the fact that you get older in years, embrace it, deal with it in a positive fashion and move on. Celebrate every day of your life! Each day is a gift we should be grateful for. So, is it time for those 40th birthday invitations? Be proud of the years you've accumulated thus far. You're clearly doing something right.

Don't let the fast pace of life get to you. Take the time to smell the roses as the saying goes. Ferris Buhler said: "Life can move pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it." This is very true and brilliant advice for us all. Preparing 40th birthday invitations makes some folks think they're at the mid-life point. Well, even that is debatable. I prefer to think 70 to be my mid-life point. I just always assumed I'd be around for at least 140 years :)

Anyway, I was recently at a 40th birthday party. Once the 40th birthday invitation arrived in my mailbox, I couldn't pass it up. I was instructed to bring a gag gift, since it was a surprise party. Originally I thought about choosing one of those cheesy mugs that you'd find in a novelty store. However, it quickly occurred to me that the birthday girl might look more depressed at the sight of all these gag gifts than she would happy. So I thought the theme wasn't a good idea, and decided to choose something else that was funny yet didn't make fun of the person's age.

Turning 40 is no reason to feel sad. I remember a commercial that said "forty is prime time." Forty is the new 20 if you haven't heard. We're hardly invalids at this tender age. So cheer up and get those 40th birthday invitations out. It's time to celebrate and have fun!
